Washington Family Engagement held two Parent and Children’s Leadership Training Institute graduation ceremonies at the Washington State Capitol this month. We celebrate parent and children leaders from Snohomish County, Whatcom County, King County, and various cities around the state who are ready to advocate, participate and make a difference in their schools, neighborhoods and communities.
We are grateful to our graduation key note speaker WA State Senator Claire Wilson (30th Legislative District).
Over 250 socks donated to the Interfaith Family Shelter in Everett on February 5, 2023. This was the Fall 2022 CLTI Community Project. Child leaders collected over 500 new socks in total. 250 socks were donated to the South Snohomish County Cold Weather Shelter in December. As part of our commitment to leadership and civic engagement, WALEN provides free opportunities for the community to learn about social issues that affect the well-being of children and families. We are committed to supporting the development of a more equitable and sustainable society.
